Yellow Stonehouse Farm Open Farm Day to be held May 17, 2014

Yellow Stonehouse Farm CSA, a 54 acre property located near the Westfield/Southampton town line, is hosting an Open Farm Day on Saturday May 17th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Open to the public and CSA members, everyone is welcome to come tour the farm, learn about the CSA, and sample a few of the Spring vegetable that the farm has to offer.
The Farm store will be open as well as the Vegetable Distribution area for prospective members to learn how the CSA operates. Farm owners Connie and John will be at the farm for folks to meet and ask questions about the CSA and to show off the farms vegetable and flower fields as well as the high tunnels.
Samples of Asparagus and other Spring vegetables will be available in limited supply.
Walking tours of the fields and pastures of Yellow Stonehouse Farm will be available throughout the day. There are lovely meadows, hills, wetlands and woods to wander, wildlife and birds to watch, and both a river and a stream to meander alongside. Visitors can see the certified vernal pool and possibly an endangered Eastern Box Turtle.
The farm uses sustainable agricultural practices and is committed to providing families with healthy locally grown products. A member of CISA (Community Involvement in Sustaining Agriculture) and NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Association).
