WHAT: Guest speaker and author Gregory Maguire will visit Westfield State University as part of the University’s special topics course “Wizardry of Oz,” offered through the Ethnic & Gender Studies Department and taught by Dr. Frank Giuliano. Maguire’s book “Wicked, Son of a Witch” is the inspiration for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Wicked.”
WHO: The New York Times bestselling author Gregory Maguire has previously lectured on art, literature, and culture across the country and abroad. In addition to his “Wicked Years” series of three novels (including “Wicked, Son of a Witch”), Maguire’s other novels include “Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister,” “Lost,” and “Mirror Mirror.” He lives outside of Boston with his family.
