October 10 – Government, Criminal Justice & Non-profit Career Fair

The annual career fair for Government, Criminal Justice and Non-profit careers will be held Thursday, October 10 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the Woodward Center, 395 Western Ave, Westfield. The fair is intended for those interested in the fields of social services, law enforcement, federal employment, and psychology.

Over 90 local, state, federal and non-profit agencies are scheduled to attend to showcase career and employment information to those seeking jobs. Some organizations included are Commonwealth of Mass. Department of Environmental Protection, Transportation Security Admin. (TSA), US Secret Service, and the state police of Mass., Maine, N.H., and N.Y.

Both events are free and open to the public. Junior Delgado, the director of Westfield State’s Career Center, encourages all to stop in, explaining “It’s the beginning stages, where students can explore and see what types of careers exist...It’s about stepping beyond or outside of what you might think an organization offers, because many of the organizations have many different career paths that provide opportunities for various majors.”

Attendees should bring copies of their resume and dress professionally. Visitor parking will be available in the South Lot, 700 Western Avenue, and campus shuttle services will transport guests to and from the career fairs.
