WESTFIELD STATE UNIVERSITY APPOINTS ASSISTANT DEAN OF STUDENTS SUCCESS...
Westfield State University has appointed Dominick Usher as the interim assistant dean of student success for the College of Graduate and Continuing Education (CGCE).
Usher comes to the University with an extensive background in higher education, including academic advising and admissions/enrollment positions for 10 years at New York University (NYU), Long Island University (Brooklyn campus), and the Bard Graduate Center in New York City.
“Westfield State is pleased to welcome Dominick and the critical role he will play in the success of our continuing education and graduate students. It is imperative to provide our students with the necessary tools and support to be successful in their academics while navigating through this pandemic,” said Stefanie Sanchez, Ed.D., interim dean of the CGCE.
Sanchez explained that Usher will lead a broad range of functions associated with student records, academic advising and retention strategies to best support Westfield State’s non-traditional students in reaching their educational, professional, and personal goals.
Usher moved to Amherst, Mass., in 2013 and has worked most recently in Amherst College’s Residential Life division and in academic advising at University of Massachusetts Amherst. He holds a B.A. in psychology from UMass Amherst and an M.A. in higher education administration from NYU.
