United Way of Pioneer Valley Celebrates Opening of New Offices in Downtown Springfield

-United Way of Pioneer Valley is marking the opening of its new offices with a ribbon cutting ceremony and press conference on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. United Way of Pioneer Valley relocated from its long-time home at 184 Mill Street to 1441 Main Street in Springfield on the first floor of the TD Bank building on January 17, 2012.

"Today's UWPV is comprised of thousands of volunteers from every part of our community - along with our Board, committees, councils and innovative community partnerships working year round", said Dora D. Robinson, President & CEO. "Our new location provides us with the space needed to support all of our work, and allows us to forge and support new partnerships and collaborations."

The new location enhances United Way's work and broadens its reach and impact in the community. The main floor location at 1441 Main Street in Springfield also accommodates professional development, training and volunteer opportunities in the non-profit sector.

The decision to move was made after a two-year study and a cost analysis was completed. The Board of Directors approved the decision in 2010. UWPV Board Chair Kathryn Dube said about the move, "We are committed to our community, and as part of that commitment we are excited to contribute to the revitalization of Springfield's downtown area."
