The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce Announces New Executive Director

The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Kate Phelon has joined the board as the new Executive Director. While the Executive Director is in charge of day-to-day operations, Kate's plans for the Westfield Chamber revolve around bringing it to the next level as a highly valued resource for the Greater Westfield business community. She is looking forward to developing a new strategic plan with the Chamber's leadership team. In addition, Kate is committed to improving the commercial, industrial, and civic life throughout the Greater Westfield area. The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce encompasses ten communities and Kate intends to embrace each one in an effort to create a dynamic business environment in each community.

Kate's professional background includes the area of accounting where she worked in the for-profit and nonprofit arena, as well as having been self-employed for 15 years in the City of Westfield. Kate has also been involved in the community as a past president and member of the Westfield Rotary Club, past member of the board of directors of the Boys' & Girls' Club, and previous work with Habitat for Humanity. Kate has resided in Westfield for over 30 years, originally from Broadalbin, NY. When not working, she enjoys her book club, hiking year round and snow shoeing in the winter. She also enjoys spending time with her two children Jeffrey and Megan.
