THE 20th SEASON CELEBRATION KICKS INTO HIGH GEAR THIS SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER WITH ROBERT DUBAC’S smART STANDUP, THE MIDTOWN MEN, A JOHN DENVER MUSICAL TRIBUTE, THE COMEDY OF BOBBY COLLINS AND THE HILARIOUS MUTTS GONE NUTS!

Musical Tributes, Comedy and Family Fun come to CityStage this September & October!

ROBERT DUBAC'SsmART STANDUP– Our favorite funny guy ROBERT DUBAC IS BACK! with smART STANDUP - COMEDY FOR DUMMIES -  Hailed by his peers as one of the smartest comedians in the country, Bob Dubac raises the bar of stand-up comedy high above the mediocrity of television. If you are tired of the not-so-special comedy specials you see on cable then don’t miss Bob Dubac. He beats the hornet’s nest of hype and spin using the big stick of knowledge with a voice that sounds like it came from the inside of your own frustrated head.

On stage Dubac buckles us up for a fast-paced joy ride over the pot-holed highways of cultural hypocrisy. Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity he crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media - all in an effort to expose the idiocracy that surrounds us. For example, “idiocracy” isn’t even a word. How dumb is that?

Bob is usually busy performing his award winning solo shows THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? and THE BOOK OF MORON in theaters all over the world. So it’s a rare treat to have him here.

Robert Dubac belongs to a unique breed of humorists, bringing to mind the best of Lily Tomlin and Mark Twain. He creates characters that boggle our minds with biting wit and rapid-fire satire while simultaneously crafting a simple story that binds us all together. His ability to combine the raucous laughter of stand-up comedy with the startling thrill of live theater continues to fill seats everywhere; as nothing like this can be seen on TV, that’s for sure.

His shows explore social mores, political ideas and the complexity of the human experience with unparalleled humor. Shifting effortlessly from one hilarious character to the next, he takes every audience on a joy ride over the pot-holes of our cultural highway with intelligence and absurdity.

If thinking were easy, everyone would do it but it’s not - so we have Bob Dubac appearing at CityStage.  It’s comedy on steroids. Think your funny bone can handle it?

Their voices blend together so flawlessly on stage.” After a recent performance with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, The Oklahoman praised THE MIDTOWN MEN for “a joyous and nostalgic trip through the music of the 1960's with terrific orchestral charts,” adding, “this high-spirited evening kicked the audience’s adrenaline into overdrive.”
