Westfield, MA – The Futures Collegiate Baseball League announced last month that the City of Westfield, MA has been added as an expansion team for the 2019 season. The Westfield franchise was purchased by local entrepreneurs Christopher Thompson and Don Moorhouse. The new ownership group brings over 40 years of experience in minor league sports, business management, marketing and promotions.
A VIP Launch Event will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20th at the Shortstop Bar & Grill located on Springfield Road in Westfield, MA. The event will unveil the team’s official logo and name and is open to the general public. Players will be available to sign autographs and interact with guests. Free appetizers and access to the batting cages will be available, along with a signature cocktail drink available for purchase.
The Mayor of Westfield, Brian Sullivan, as well as the Commissioner of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL), Chris Hall, will be in attendance.
“Baseball is an integral part of the history of Westfield,” said co-founder Don Moorhouse. “Summer collegiate baseball makes sense here and we are looking forward to introducing our brand at the VIP Launch Event.”
