28th Annual Noble Hospital 5k Run & Walk For A Noble Cause at Stanley Park

Registration is now open for the 28th Annual Noble Hospital 5k Run & Walk being held Saturday, April 28, 2012. The race begins at 9:00 a.m., with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Children’s Pavilion at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.

The 5k run is a competitive road race for all levels of runners—from the novice to the serious athlete. The 3.1-mile course is flat out and back through Stanley Park and the surrounding residential area. A non-competitive walk—great for families!—follows the same route as the road race. Individuals, teams, and school groups are all encouraged to participate.

Proceeds from the 5k are directed to the Noble Hospital Annual Fund. It costs an enormous amount of money to provide the vast array of services available at Noble, around the clock, 365 days per year. In the best of times, community hospital net margins are quite low, and meeting our current operating needs as well as other expenses is a significant and persistent challenge. The road race is one of two major community fundraising events held by the Hospital. The other major fundraising event is the Noble Ball, held in the fall.

Early registration is encouraged. The registration fee for ages 13-59 is $30 before April 13 (Seniors 60+ are $20). The registration fee for ages 13-59 is $35 between April 14-28 (Seniors 60 + are $25). Children under the age of 12 register free of charge when accompanied by an adult. T-shirts and sizes are available to registrants on a first-come, first-served basis while inventory is available.

New this year is the option to register online! Visit http://give.noblehospital.org/5k to register or for more information. Registration materials and general information may also be downloaded via the Noble website at www.noblehospital.org and click on the News & Events category.
