The tenth annual Hobo Harvest Dinner will be held at Chester Railway Station ( 10 Prospect St., Chester, MA, on Sat. Oct. 26th.  New this year, starting around noon there will be a hobo camp re-enactment on the station grounds.  Historic actors from Storrowton Village will present the ‘Hobo Jungle’ for visitors; answering questions of life ‘on the road’ and performing traditional music for dinner guests and museum visitors.

Home-cooked menu includes: “Trackside” Beef Stew, Corn Pudding (from the New Haven RR recipe book) Rolls and Butter for dessert, Apple, or Pumpkin Pie (ala mode, or w/ whipped cream) or Apple Crisp.  Beverages are coffee, tea, apple cider.

There will be one sitting, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.   RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST.  In lieu of buffet style, volunteers will be serving meals at your seat.  Call 413-354-7878.  Please leave a message with your name, phone number and number in your party.   Call early, this will fill up fast.

The cost is $12 adults, $6 children under 12, children under 3, FREE.  All proceeds go to support the Chester Railway Station, a non-profit educational organization and museum, named last year in a travel guide from U Mass Press, ‘Massachusetts Treasures’, as a ‘Marvelous Must-See Museum’.
