Hogan said, “As the bank has expanded its footprint with two offices and a growing customer base in Hampden County it’s important for us to support organizations such as Baystate Medical Center that provide vital health care services to all of our customers throughout the Pioneer Valley.

Susan Toner, Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the Baystate Health Foundation said that she and Mark Tolosky, President and CEO of Baystate Health, were honored to host William Hogan and members of the Easthampton Saving Bank board on a tour of the current Baystate Medical Center facilities.  “The tour was an opportunity for our guests to see first hand why the aging facilities led to the construction of a new hospital. It was also an opportunity to share impactful information about Baystate Health, the largest private employer in Western MA. We are thrilled that the site visit served as a vehicle for establishing a meaningful partnership between the Bank and Baystate Health. We are especially grateful to Easthampton Savings Bank’s leadership for the decision to make a very generous investment in our project. The gift is much appreciated recognition of our efforts to continue to bring innovative and quality care to our region,” said Toner.

Hogan also expressed the bank’s desire to support job growth in the region as an additional factor in the decision to make this contribution. ” It is estimated it is bringing up to 450 construction jobs during the building phase and hundreds of permanent positions to support patient care. It will contain a new heart and vascular center and 96 single patient rooms that will be strategically located within the building to provide views of the outside.

Hogan added “This is a powerful, enduring investment for our community now and for generations to come. This is a new, visionary facility that will enhance the quality of healthcare available in our region.”
