Briony Angus of Tighe & Bond named a “40 Under Forty” Winner

Briony Angus, a project manager at Tighe & Bond, was recently named a 2011 “40 Under Forty” winner by Business West, the Business Journal of Western Massachusetts.  She was one of 40 winners selected from an applicant pool of more than 100 nominees to become one of the newest members of the Business West “40 under Forty” club.  The award recognizes exceptional leadership both on the job and within the community.

Briony is an environmental and land use planner with extensive experience managing development projects that require approvals from local, state and federal regulatory agencies.  Since joining Tighe & Bond in 2008, she has emerged as an invaluable leader on projects that require a high level of internal and external coordination with regulators, funding agencies, and the public.

Briony also acts as Tighe & Bond’s wind energy champion and is a key member of the team involved in developing the firm’s growing renewable energy market.  Currently, she is managing several wind energy projects underway at the firm.  In addition, she frequently provides expert guidance to various clients on regulatory, technical, policy, and financing issues related to renewable energy projects.

Originally from British Columbia, Briony now resides in Amherst where she uses her technical knowledge of environmental regulations as a volunteer member on a number of boards and committees.  She is currently Chair of the Amherst Conservation Commission and has been a member for three years.  She is also a former member of the Town of Amherst’s Puffer’s Pond 2020 Committee and the Town’s Community Preservation Act Committee.

An awards ceremony for this year’s “40 Under Forty” winners takes place on June 23rd at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
