Tighe & Bond, a Northeast leader in civil and environmental engineering and consulting services announced today that Brandee Nelson, P.E., LEED AP has joined the firm as a project manager in its growing Red Hook, New York office. Nelson’s 19 years of experience in environmental engineering, and her strong knowledge of the region, helps the firm better serve its expanding list of New York state clients.

For the past 12 years, Nelson has been a Vice President of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a Hudson Valley consulting engineering firm where she was responsible for the delivery of a wide array of projects. This included site investigation and remediation, permitting, municipal infrastructure, as well as private residential and commercial land development. She also has been the designated engineer for several municipalities for the past 10 years.

A licensed professional engineer in New York, Nelson has experience in land development, water resource management, municipal engineering, stormwater management, transportation engineering, as well as environmental assessments and remediation. Her knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations/procedures contributes to timely and efficient permitting processes for a diverse portfolio of clients. In addition, she is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) for new construction. She graduated from Montana Tech in Butte Montana with a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Engineering.

Her active participation and local experience in the industry makes Nelson a familiar face to many. Over the years, she has worked closely with numerous municipalities to facilitate engineering and environmental solutions. She resides in Great Barrington, MA where she is chair of the Town of Great Barrington Planning Board, and sits on the Great Barrington Energy Committee and Lake Mansfield Improvement Task Force.
