BERKSHIRE BANK PROMOTES FOUR SENIOR MANAGERS
Berkshire Bank today announced the promotion of four senior managers. George Bacigalupo has been appointed to the position of senior vice president and chief credit officer; Shelley Guyette has been promoted to the position of first vice president, human resources; Gary Urkevich has been promoted to vice president of corporate initiatives; and Joseph Marullo has been promoted to vice president of commercial lending in the Pioneer Valley.
Bacigalupo leads the commercial underwriting team in partnership with the commercial relationship managers, focusing on the quality of the bank’s loan portfolio. He has a great deal of expertise in the credit arena as well as a broad lending management background, which will assist him in his role of providing strong leadership to the credit team. Bacigalupo holds an MBA from Suffolk University and a BS in accounting from Boston College.
Guyette is responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resource operations to ensure effectiveness, regulatory compliance and quality customer service. She provides major support with the integration of people and processes for all mergers and acquisitions. She has over 17 years of Human Resources experience, joining Berkshire Bank in 1999. Guyette served on the ADP National Comprehensive Services Client Advisory Council in 2011 and is a member of WorldatWork, Society for Human Resources Management, Northeast and Capital Region Human Resources Associations, Employers Association of New England, and the HR Association of Berkshire County.
Urkevich provides leadership, design, direction and strategic oversight for all corporate-wide initiatives including mergers and acquisition integration, primary systems conversions, major business initiatives and program implementation. The PMO will utilize Berkshire’s extensive experience with Six Sigma disciplines to achieve process improvement and efficiency enhancements. Urkevich holds an MBA in finance from Siena College and a BS in Management & Economics from Russell Sage College.
Marullo previously served as assistant vice president of commercial lending, a position he has held since he started with Berkshire Bank in 2006. As vice president, he will continue to expand and enhance business customer relationships within the Pioneer Valley. Marullo holds a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
