TIFFANY LABRIE, P.E. NAMED OUTSTANDING UMASS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ALUMNUS

 

The University of Massachusetts Amherst and its College of Engineering recognized Tighe & Bond Project Manager and Associate Tiffany Labrie, P.E. as an “extraordinary member” of its alumni community during an awards ceremony in Amherst held on September 30. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering presented Labrie with a 2016 College of Engineering Outstanding Junior Alumni Award for her substantial efforts and notable successes early in her career. This comes at a time when the importance of women and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) has come sharply into focus.

“This is well deserved recognition for Tiffany, an exceptional and talented engineer who has made substantial contributions to our firm for more than 11 years. She consistently goes above and beyond to support Tighe & Bond’s technical competence and success,” says David Pinsky, President and CEO of Tighe & Bond.

 Based in the firm’s Westfield office, Labrie specializes in the planning, design, bidding, and construction of large and complicated projects involving wastewater conveyance and treatment. Labrie was an integral member of the design team for the 40.7-MGD Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Treatment Facility in Chicopee, MA, and has authored a Long-Term CSO Control Plan and Integrated Water Resources Management Plan for that city. She also is managing the design and construction of the Read-West pumping and storage project for the City of Lowell, MA. Labrie also provides regular advice to a number of the firm’s municipal clients regarding industrial pretreatment programs.   

 A licensed professional engineer in Massachusetts, Labrie is also a Construction Specifications Institute Construction Documents Technologist. She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also serves on the Advisory Council of the UMass Amherst Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
