FORUM HOUSE RECEIVES $5000 DONATION FROM GLASGOW LANDS SCOTTISH FESTIVAL COMMITTEE
Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival Committee presented a check for $5,000 to the Forum House. Forum House is a program of Human Resources Unlimited, a private 501(c) non-profit organization. On an annual basis Forum House works with over 300 individuals with major mental illness, helping them to return to work or helping them return to school and encouraging them to become actively involved in the Greater Westfield community.
Held annually, the 22st annual Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival was at Look Park in Northampton on the third Saturday of July. The festival is held to promote Scottish culture, to raise funds used for cultural scholarships and used for donations to local non-profit organizations. The Forum House has partnered with the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival Committee since 2002 and has provided many of the volunteers that help set up and run the Festival. Over the last 14 years Forum House has received over $59,000 in donations.
Again this year Forum House and the River Valley Counseling Center shared responsibility for providing the extra volunteers that staff the positions, needed by the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival Committee, to run the annual event. These two non-profit organizations shared the funds raised by the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival which donates the festival’s profits to local non-profit organizations.
The Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival Committee and the Forum House look forward to working together on another exciting Scottish Festival in July of 2016.
