Meet Berkshire Family & Individual Resources, Inc. (BFAIR)
Berkshire Family & Individual Resources, Inc. (BFAIR)
Why did you start your business?
Our organization has evolved through several changes in name, but the value of assisting people regardless of their ability level has always remained the same. BFAIR as it is today became incorporated in 1994, and we’ve continued to diversify and grow since then.
How does your business give back to the community?
As a not-for-profit organization that depends upon the generosity of the community and business partners, we try to support like organizations through sponsorships and participation in other not-for-profits fundraising activities.
Why did you join the Chamber?
Although we began as a Berkshire based organization, we have begun to expand into new territory. In July, we opened a residential home in Northampton for four people living with acquired brain injury. Currently, we are building a home on Angelica Drive in Westfield that will become the home to four people who are currently living in long-term care facilities. We believe in supporting the communities in which our programs and their participants reside in, so joining the Chamber was a no-brainer for us!
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
With such an expansive footprint throughout the Berkshires and now beyond, it might surprise you that we have over 300 full and part time employees!
Do you have an offer for other Chamber Members?
We don’t have a tangible offer, per say, but we would welcome any of our fellow Chamber Members to connect with us to learn about what we offer and how what might seem like an unlikely partnership could have much greater potential than you think.
