Westfield State University PR Students Address Bullying with Event
‘Brewing Positivity’ at Westfield’s Circuit Coffee. Westfield’s Circuit Coffee, owned by Westfield State alumni, and Unify Against Bullying will host ‘Brewing Positivity’ on Saturday, April 28, an event that will feature discounted coffee, a gift basket raffle, and open discussions about bullying in the greater Westfield area.
The event will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Circuit Coffee, 22 Elm Street, Westfield. Westfield State University’s Advanced Public Relations course members worked with both organizations to create the event and will assist in its facilitation. A short program will begin at 10 a.m.
In addition to discounted coffee, a drink special will be on sale exclusively for the event. Cupcakes donated by Springfield dessert-maker Sweet Alexsandr will also be provided.
Westfield State’s radio station, 89.5 FM WSKB, will broadcast live from Circuit Coffee’s outdoor seating area and will host an open conversation about bullying and the impacts it has on the community.
There is free on-street parking available as well as a public lot adjacent to School Street.
Unify Against Bullying was founded in 2015(this was stated above, should it just be here?) by Edward and Susanna Zemba. The organization’s mission is to bring an end to bullying through the celebration of true diversity. Each year, Unify Against Bullying provides grants to children, parents, teachers and administrators. These people, the organization says, are the ones who are in the best position to make a difference.
Circuit Coffee was founded in March 2017 by Westfield State University alumnus Ted Dobek. It features an espresso bar, locally roasted coffee, and fresh-baked pastries.
