WESTFIELD FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION TO HOLD

3rd ANNUAL POCKETBOOK BINGO FUNDRAISER

Proceeds to Fund Teacher Grants and Innovative Classroom Activities

Westfield, MA   Westfield Foundation for Education (WFE) will hold it’s 3rd Annual Pocketbook Bingo fundraiser on October 27, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Tekoa Country Club, 459 Russell Rd. Westfield. Doors open at 6:30 and Bingo kicks off at 7:00. Tickets are $30 for ten games of Bingo.

Pocketbook Bingo combines the fun of a Bingo game with the chance to win a designer purse by Coach, Vera Bradley, Michael Kors, or others. In addition to Bingo, organizers promise a number of surprises, plus a raffle, and an exciting door prize.  A cash bar is available.  “All of the money raised will go back to Westfield public schoolchildren,” said Amber Danahey, President of WFE. “Last year WFE gave more than $18,000 in classroom grants to Westfield School teachers. With community support, we should exceed that amount this year.”

According to WFE, 18 school-based projects were funded during the 2105-2016 school year. “WFE is an important part of the Westfield community,” continued Mrs. Danahey. “We are looking for community members to help keep the organization vibrant, through donations and volunteering. Supporting our schools is good for the City, and Pocketbook Bingo and volunteering with WFE are ways to help.”

For ticket information contact Janine Queenin at (413) 568-5082 or JanineQ999@comcast.net.

(WFE) is an all-volunteer organization, established in 2013 with the goal of providing Westfield schoolchildren with robust, challenging educational experiences in mathematics, sciences, athletics, and the humanities.

Through privately raised funds, WFE awards grants to teachers and community members inspired to bring innovative school-based projects to Westfield schools. The grant program serves the entire school district and is available in all 12 of the City’s public schools.
